Long Time No Post

HEY, HEY, HEY!!!
So I haven't posted in forever about my healthy lifestyle....soooo the beginning of summer started out great but I have not been doing so hot the past two or three weeks and my body is feeling it. I don't think it helps that I work in an ice cream shop and my friends aren't the best motivators.

You are still my motivators and even though I haven't posted in forever I know that there are people out there with the same problems as me.

Success doesn't come without Sweat and Pain

I have been running a lot lately and I am starting to enjoy it as I mentioned before in my last post. One day after my run I went to the bathroom before changing to take my shower so I was still sweaty and had that after workout "glow." I came out of the stall and looked in the mirror and saw myself with sweat all around my neck and lifted my arms to see sweat stains in my armpits, most people would be disgusted by the way I looked, but I was proud. To me that shirt with sweat all over it and hair that had the wet look because of the run was a symbol of effort and success in pushing myself for the day and to know I can run that far. I look at myself and see that I am going somewhere and the changes are beginning to show. Others ma not see them, but I can; they may not necessarily be visible by looking in the mirror, but I can see them in the miles I run and the longer I can run with the increase of speed. I see changes for the better and that just makes me happy and I am so proud of myself for pushing through the days where I just want to pig out and the times when working out just seems horrific. I want to be someones inspiration and I know that by pushing myself to be better I am closer to inspiring others to work hard too and that they can do it too as long as they don't give up.

Now that I have wrote out my feelings of being strong I have a story that makes me happy and shows me that I have been working hard. I was running in the fitness room we have in our dormitory. That day I didn't feel like getting my butt of the couch and running, but I made myself because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. As I was running I was wanting to give up around the 15 minute mark but I made myself go longer and then the 20 minute mark came and I once again made myself push harder and then I stopped around the 25 minute marker. After that I went to clean the treadmill for health reasons and as I was doing that a girl came up to me and asked me how I did that, I was confused and she said that she would never be able to run for that long. I was in shock she said this because I never thought of myself as a runner. Then she proceeded to say "you must have ran cross country in high school." This made me smile and I told her that I have alwayshated running and that I am more of the swimmer, but I decided to pick up running because it seemed it would be easier to do on a daily basis since the pool was so far away and that it has taken me awhile to build my endurance up to run for that long.
I just thought I would share this to you to prove that you can improve and people will notice (your not the only one who sees the differences you make in your life)

Just A Reason

Just one reason to be fit....there are so many on Pinterest

I Like To Move It, Move It

So the journey isn't being too terrible and I am finding myself enjoying the workouts more and more. I have never really been a runner let alone enjoying it, but I decided that I will try it out since it is a really good workout. My first day I didn't do too terrible since I have been working out and I am in better shape than when I started, and I have ran every once in a while so it isn't completely foreign. For the past several days I have been running and I have been averaging at least two miles. After my first day of running I forgot to stretch like a dummy, and the next morning I jumped put of bed to find myself almost collapsing on the floor because my calves were so sore. I have kept up with the running for the past days and I am no longer sore and I am remembering to stretch afterwards. This makes me happy that I can enjoy working out and being healthy.

A big part that helped me to keep running was the music. I love listening to my iPod while I run; it keeps my focus off the time I have been running and how much longer I wanted to run, and my focus stayed more on the song and enjoying it. I like to listen to the pumped up songs that make me feel super strong and amazing for being so motivated. I like to listen to the upbeat rock kind of stuff always the techno music. I also like songs that the lyrics make you feel BA and that you can push through anything and nothing is impossible. If you choose the right song you can go the extra mile, or the extra 5 minutes that will help you reach your goal.

The dietary/healthy food front has just been going okay and I am losing some will power. I am finding myself looking at the cookies and wanting to buy them; luckily, I have resisted and not bought them yet, but they keep looking better and better. This temptation was killing me and I was on Pinterest on the fitness page and I saw an amazing quote "When you look at junk food don't feel sad because you can't have it, but hold your head up because you have the will power to pass it up." This made me feel stronger and I just have to keep saying it over and over in my head as I walk downstairs to get my meals.

Keep Pushing Through

As time goes on and I watch my friends indulge in sweet cookies and the ever so fattening cheeseburgers I start to miss the days that I used to just eat what I wanted without taking into consideration what the food might to do me if I didn't regulate it. The thing that is keeping me on the track of my healthy goal is remembering when I did eat like that that I wasn't happy with the body I was in and how much weight I gained. Ever since I decided that I was going to be healthy I have lost maybe 10 pounds and I can tell the difference, so when I look in the mirror I am a lot happier with what I see and I know that I am well on my way to the body that I want.

The past couple of days I have been doing the Jillian Micheal's workout, and let me tell you it is does a lot more than you think it does. When you are doing the workout you know you are working hard, but you don't realize how hard you worked until the next day when you are sore on almost every part of your body. Call me crazy but I love it when I get sore; it just assures me that I am pushing myself and I am getting stronger.

So the food part is the tricky part of this whole healthy lifestyle. I just want to be able to eat whatever I want and not gain weight like some of my friends...it is the times when they just eat whatever that I wish that they would get fat and realize how I have struggled to stay the size that I am and they won't be breathing down my neck about being healthy. I know that I am doing this for more than just the amazing body. I am doing this because I am just a happier person and I will be more confident with the way I look. Last year before Spring Break I went shopping with my two best friends and one of them is in the same place as me with not being happy with her weight, but the other one has never had any weight issues. So she is off buying size 5 shorts and I don't think I look that much bigger than her, but I am buying size 11 shorts. I was just uncomfortable to be around her and trying on clothes with them; it just made me so self-conscious. I am also doing this for the health aspects because I have a long line of heart disease in my family, and not just on one side of the family but both sides. Yeah you can say that kind of have the odds against me and I don't want an unhealthy lifestyle cut my life short. I am looking at this healthy lifestyle to be something permanent, maybe not the extreme health. I will probably start to have some unhealthier things once I reach my goal, but I will definitely stay to a more healthy living way.

Thank you for reading my blog and helping me stay motivated :)

Go, Go, Go

So the past two days I didn't really workout too well...I did some of a pinterest work out and then I did some crunches before I went to bed, so I at least did something. I really needed to get motivated again like I was before the cruise. So me and my mom went to Target and guess what??? They had Jillian Micheal's workout DVDs on sale along with sports bras :)....this was just the thing I needed to get back in the game and become shredded.

I ended up getting Extreme Shed & Shred and I did it today before I had my 2:00 class and I only did level one...It was fun to do and it was a challenge. I love doing something that is challenging because then I am motivated to keep doing it so I can get better at it.

So far, so good on the whole eating healthy. I got up and did a simpler workout this morning before breakfast because you should workout in the first half hour you wake up and before you eat. Then I had myself a bowl of cereal and then I did my new Extreme Shed & Shred. After that I had a salad for lunch and I am yet to eat dinner, but you can better your bottom buck that it will be healthy and delicious (hopefully).

Wish me luck and Thanks for reading!!

Well....

Okay so.....My healthy lifestyle for the past two days hasn't been too successful. I have had an ice cream sundae, baked oatmeal (which I guess isn't too terrible), and then I had Fazolis for lunch today. Their bread sticks are soooooooooooooo good!!!! I t is hard to resist them. I didn't get a full order of spaghetti by ordering a kid size meal. And for dinner tonight I am going to have enchiladas...I know that it isn't the healthiest choice, but I could eat worse. So far the plan for working out will be after I eat and hang out with my two best friends. I found another pinterest work out I am going to try. I don't know maybe I might do one of my Jillian Micheal's work out.
I guess I did get in some activity today I went sledding with my friends before I ate at Fazoli's and instead of just climbing the hill with a walk, I ran up the hill to get some kind of a work out....wish me luck on my journey for better health.
